NGMK reached a record production: 3.1 million gold ounces in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (Uzdaily.uz)-in 2024, the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Plant (NGMK) reached a historical line, for the first time producing more than 3 million gold ounces. This was announced by the First Deputy General Director and Director of Transformations of the enterprise Evgeny Antonov during the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

“Last year, we overcame an important line: the volume of gold production amounted to 3.1 million ounces. This is 30% more than seven years ago. Our resource base is one of the largest in the world, almost 150 million ounces, which guarantees us at least half a century of further work, ”he said.

Antonov also said that in 2023 the NGMK reached record revenue of 7.4 billion US dollars.

“We demonstrate high efficiency: the EBITDA indicator exceeds 60%. In addition, we are one of the lowest gold manufacturers in the world. NGMK is a completely integrated structure: all our production processes are concentrated in Uzbekistan. We remain the largest taxpayer, one of the leading employers and provide 6.5% of the country`s GDP, ”he emphasized.

Antonov paid special attention in his speech to the topic of sustainable development. According to him, effective production should be combined with a responsible approach to ecology: “We strive for the sustainable production of gold. The environmental agenda is one of our priorities. In particular, projects in the field of renewable energy are actively developing. By the end of this year, the share of "green" energy in the total volume of our energy consumption will exceed 20%. "
